Robotics Lab

ROBOTICS LAB

Stacks of bricks, lots of cables, integrated circuits and thousands of electronic components make the robotics workshop at PCN Łukasiewicz a paradise on earth for technology lovers. At the entrance, everyone will be greeted by the EVA robot (Rąsia for friends), with which you can feel like a real industrial robot operator. And for those who dream of the skies, we have prepared special stations for learning to control drones.

Who can use the robotics lab?

Anyone who has never had contact with robots and wants to try their hand at constructing and programming robots is welcome to join our robotics workshop.

We also welcome those who have already taken their first steps in programming robots. Hobbyists and do-it-yourselfers. Our instructors will be happy to help you develop your programming passions.

We especially welcome primary school students who are considering a secondary school choice. In a workshop in the robotics workshop, each pupil will see for himself what awaits him or her in an electronics technical college. This in turn will help them make a more informed decision about their choice of school.

The workshops are supervised by instructors. Every participant can always count on help. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to learn. After all, everyone started out once.

We are ready to work with organised groups as well as individual participants.

What do we do in the workshops?

The youngest participants of the workshop will find plenty of building blocks from which they can build any robot they like and program it to their liking. The aim of these activities is to develop manual skills, reading comprehension and cause-and-effect thinking. For the more demanding participants, we have prepared activities to take their skills to a whole new level. And when bricks are not enough, we bring in real robots. For electronics enthusiasts, we have prepared workshops on building electronic circuits and programming devices based on Arduino and STM controllers. During the classes, we use some of the most popular programming languages, i.e. C/C++ and Python. In addition to giving commands to robots, an equally important element is communication between the machine and the human. Therefore, during the classes, we teach the implementation of User Experience principles in the construction of devices.

What do I need to know to take part in the workshop?

The programme of activities has been prepared in such a way that no special programming knowledge or experience in robotics is needed for most workshops. Everything you need to get started will be taught in the classes. And if a workshop participant has already taken their first steps in robot programming, that's a plus for them. We tailor the exercises in class to the level of sophistication of the participants. For detailed information on the scope of content, please see the description of the specific workshop topic.

We have divided the topics of our workshops into three groups.
